IFMR Pudhuaru Book Project
KGFS (Kshetriya Gramin Financial Services) - the rural financial service provider is part of IFMR. KGFS has worked with people in Thanjavur, India to help microfinance livelihood options from setting up small businesses like stores and tea shops to rearing livestock. Over the last five years, they have grown 60 branches strong.
This book documents the journey of KGFS and the important customers who have been an integral part of it. The book will be a case study of sorts to prove that such finance models work in places like Thanjavur and help encourage more institutions to start investing in small towns.
It's always inspiring to meet people in small towns and villages and listen to their stories.
